Description

Qualifications:                

     1.  Valid driver’s license

  1. Valid State of Ohio teacher’s license or provisional teacher license is preferred.
  2. Demonstrates strong organizational and office management skills
  3. Good health, high moral character and good attendance record    
  4. Possess the ability to learn skills appropriate for the position including physical ability to life up to 25 pounds, bend, kneel, and crawl and stand on 4’ ladders (attaching computer cabling and access materials required for presentations), ability to load and unload presentation equipment and transport up and down flights of stairs.
  5. Ability to travel to assignments
  6. Clear record as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation

 

General Description:          

Carry out prepared lessons and professional development activities normally performed by NWOET’s teaching staff. Teach assigned classes and workshops as scheduled. Be responsible for teaching the material described in the absent teacher’s lesson plan, and comply with all local, state and federal health and safety standards. Confer with NWOET Executive director and/or appropriate staff as required.

 

Essential Functions

 

  1. Knowledge or ability to learn classroom technology tools and to access, demonstrate and provide or assist with providing lecture and hands-on instruction in the use of theses and related classroom resources.

 

  1. Having or learning use of Google tools, Office and Office 360, online resources including those provided by INFOhio at a level sufficient to provide beginner and intermediate-level professional development is required.
  1. Ability to receive, open and understand assignment instructions and teaching resources (“handouts”) by email and text messaging.
  1. Follow all health, safety and reporting rules required by WCESC and NWOET.
  1. Maintain all privacy of conversations, grades/certificates, evaluations and interactions with all who receive professional development or other services from NWOET. 
  1. Provide live in-person and electronic instruction as required to meet the professional development and instructional learning objectives.
  1. Maintain appropriate appearance when on assignment at NWOET or in local school districts, meeting all school requirements for professional staff in clothing, and behavior. Visible tattoos, clothing which shows affiliation or support for any commercial product or which indicates by wording, image or other means support or interest for or against any group, gang, drug, alcohol, tobacco, or toward any other product or activity which is prohibited or restricted in the PK-12 schools where NWOET professional development and instruction is being provided is not permitted.

 

Supervisor Responsibility:

 Coordinate the daily operation of the instructional schedule, provide instructions and resources required to provide the instruction/professional development, communicate specific teaching expectations, and provide appropriate lesson evaluation tools, and results available to employee for the purpose of improving both resources and instruction.

 

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
  2. Interaction with disruptive and/or unruly individuals
  3. Duties may require riding in a vehicle
  4. Driving to instructional sites during all seasons of the year.
  5. Set-up/tear-down of equipment required for instruction (such as laptop computer, video projector, etc.) may be required
